Poisoning, trauma, seizures, breathing trouble, sudden collapse. Our emergency team is in the building around the clock, and you never need an appointment.
Open 24/7 · No Appointment Needed
Come in now if your pet is struggling to breathe, bleeding heavily, seizing, collapsed, straining to urinate without producing anything, or may have swallowed something toxic. Those cannot wait until morning. If you are not sure how serious it is, call us and a doctor will talk it through with you before you drive over. When in doubt, come in.
An emergency is anything that cannot safely wait for your family veterinarian. Urgent means your pet needs to be seen today, but is stable enough to wait a short time. Greenlight treats both, in the same building, with the same team and the same equipment.
Our doors are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, holidays included. No appointment and no referral needed.
A veterinary technician assesses your pet the moment you arrive. The sickest patient is always seen first, regardless of arrival order.
Our veterinarian examines your pet, runs blood work or imaging in house when needed, and explains what is happening in plain language.
You approve the plan and the estimate before we begin. Then we treat your pet, and we keep you updated until you go home.
These are the signs our emergency doctors want to see immediately, at any hour.
Labored breathing, choking, or gums that look blue, gray or white
A seizure, or more than one seizure in 24 hours
Hit by a car, a fall from height, or a bite wound
Bleeding that does not stop with firm pressure
Ate chocolate, xylitol, human medication, rat bait or an unknown plant
A male cat straining in the litter box with nothing coming out
A hard, swollen belly with retching that brings nothing up
Sudden collapse, extreme weakness, or not responding to you
Walk in and tell the front desk what happened. That is all we need to get started. A technician takes your pet back for triage within minutes while you finish checking in. Critically ill patients are stabilized first, before anything else is discussed. Once your pet is stable, the doctor comes out and walks you through what they found, what they recommend, and what it will cost.
